Livin’ The Dream helps young athletes grow through team basketball, skill development, character-building, and competitive opportunities in a positive coaching environment.

Livin’ The Dream gives young athletes a place to grow as players and as people. Our youth basketball teams help boys and girls develop their skills, build confidence, learn teamwork, and compete in a positive coaching environment.

Whether your child is new to team basketball, ready for a more competitive challenge, or looking for the right place to continue developing, LTD helps families find the best fit through evaluations, coaching, and ongoing player development.

Find the Right Basketball Team for Your Child

Building Champions on the Court and in Life.

Choosing the right youth basketball team matters. Every athlete develops at a different pace, and the best team environment is one where they can be challenged, supported, and encouraged to keep growing.

At Livin’ The Dream, we focus on placing athletes where they can thrive. Our coaches look beyond wins and losses to help players improve their fundamentals, understand the game, build strong habits, and grow in confidence.

Our teams are designed for boys and girls who want to become better basketball players while learning the value of discipline, communication, leadership, and teamwork.

Youth Basketball Teams Built Around Development

LTD youth teams are more than a place to play games. They are part of a complete development pathway for young athletes.

Players grow through:

  • Team practices

  • Game experience

  • Skill development

  • Basketball IQ

  • Competitive opportunities

  • Coach-led instruction

  • Character-building

  • Leadership and teamwork

Our goal is to help each athlete take the next step in their basketball journey while developing qualities that last beyond the court.

Evaluations Instead of Traditional Tryouts

At Livin’ The Dream, we believe player placement should be about growth, not pressure.

Instead of relying only on traditional tryouts, we use evaluations to better understand each athlete’s current skill level, strengths, confidence, and development needs. This helps us recommend the right team or program fit for each player.

The evaluation process helps answer important questions:

  • What level is the athlete ready for?

  • What skills need the most development?

  • What type of team environment will help them grow?

  • Would they benefit from additional training, lessons, or Skills Academy?

  • Are they ready for a more competitive team pathway?

This approach allows players to be seen as individuals and gives families a clearer path forward.

Boys Basketball Teams

LTD boys basketball teams help athletes build strong fundamentals, improve their understanding of the game, and develop competitive habits in a positive team environment.

Players work on skills such as shooting, ball handling, passing, defense, footwork, spacing, decision-making, and team communication. Just as importantly, they learn how to compete with effort, discipline, humility, and respect.

Our boys teams are designed to help athletes become stronger players, better teammates, and more confident young men on and off the court.

girls Basketball Teams

LTD girls basketball teams provide a supportive and competitive environment where athletes can grow their skills, build confidence, and develop as leaders.

Our coaches help players improve their fundamentals, basketball IQ, communication, and competitive mindset while encouraging them to use their gifts with confidence and purpose.

Whether a player is just beginning her basketball journey or looking to take the next step competitively, LTD provides a team environment where girls can develop, compete, and belong.

THE FOCUS

LTD Select is an intensive development program for athletes who are preparing to compete at the next level. Players grow through focused skill training, character development, basketball IQ, and high-level regional and national exposure opportunities designed to help them compete, improve, and be seen.

THE COMMITMENT

The LTD Select season runs from late March through late July and is designed for athletes ready for a serious commitment. Teams practice twice per week for two hours, complete approximately 35–40 practices during the season, and compete in about 35 games. Some out-of-town travel is required for tournament play.

THE LTD DIFFERENCE

Thousands of youth and adult players, coaches, officials, and fans have been impacted by Livin’ the Dream programs, camps, and international experiences. From competing against professional teams in seven countries to building top Olathe youth basketball leagues and KC youth basketball tournaments, LTD has consistently delivered excellence in basketball development.

But what truly sets us apart is what happens after our players leave the court. Many LTD athletes have gone on to play at the next level—this year alone, five of our players earned opportunities to play college basketball. Over the years, we’ve built strong relationships with college coaches who know our reputation: LTD produces players who bring more than skills. They bring mental toughness, character, and integrity—qualities coaches are looking for at the next level.

Our alumni are proof that this works. Many return after their college or professional careers to coach with LTD, pouring back into the next generation. That cycle of mentorship shows the strength of the foundation we’ve built.

We don’t do flashy showcases where players get lost in the hype. Instead, we provide personal connections, honest guidance, and a pathway for real growth. Whether athletes are looking for Olathe youth basketball, youth basketball in Overland Park, or access to competitive KC youth basketball tournaments, Livin’ the Dream provides a proven environment for growth and development.

With over two decades of experience and a foundation in faith, we believe every athlete has a God-given dream. Through basketball, we help them discover their potential—both in the game and in life.
